Year End Blessings

Here at AMG Guatemala the end of the year is a busy time. We thought we would share some of our year end events with you:

Vacation Bible School: During the month of November, we hosted Vacation Bible School at our schools and childcare centers. Our theme this year was "learning about missionaries around the world". The children enjoyed Bible stories, games, videos, songs.....everything that makes VBS such a fun time!

Fun and Games:

VBS Teen Chorus:

Lunch Time!

Praying together....well, most of them!

VBS Crafts to take home!

Is this fun or what???

Bundles of Love: As we wrote about in our last entry, we distributed Bundles of Love to over 7,000 children throughout our 27 childcare centers last week. What a great way to end the year for the children and their families!
Here's some pictures from our time at one of our childcare centers, Amparo. (just had a new roof installed!)

Liliam, one of our central office workers, giving out shoes:

Always paperwork!

Thank you, sponsor, for my new shoes:

Bob with a mother and daughter:

Convivio: This is the Spanish slang word for "Christmas Party!" and this past Friday we hosted our annual Christmas Party for our 200 employees who work for AMG here in Guatemala City. This year we decided to bus our employees an hour west to our Camp Canaan facility and have our party there. We had a great time playing games, sharing in fellowship, enjoying a meal together, and hearing a wonderful message about "wisdom" from God´s word.

Every center represented had to make up a "cheer" for their team:

Most of the crowd cheering for the "cheers":

We played games - this one was called "apartments and condominiums"....

Fruit baskets for all the employees:

We all enjoyed a meal together:

Pastor Dan Anderson sharing a message.
(don't let the gringo look fool you, he's as Latin as they come!)

We gave out service awards.
Here's Robin giving an award to Otto, one of our supervisors:

And here we are giving an award to Orfa, our Camp Director,

for 30 YEARS of service in AMG Guatemala!

Thanks for letting us share our "end of the year" with all of you!

May the Lord reveal His great love to many this Christmas season, and may you and yours have a wonderful, blessed Christmas!

Much love from all the Hastings family.

You Are Good

Recently, I heard a song entitled "You are Good". I'm sure it's probably been around for a while but it would be an understatement to say that these days I don't exactly "keep up" with the music world.

I was touched by the words, hope you are too. If you want to listen along, you can go to this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9XyoLjFLOo

When the sun starts to rise and I open my eyes
You are good, so good
In the heat of the day with each stone that I lay
You are good, so good
With every breath I take in I'll tell you I'm grateful again
When the moon climbs high before each kiss goodnight
You are good
When the road starts to turn around each bend I've learned
You are good so good
And when somebody's hand holds me up helps me stand
You are so good
With every breath I take in I'll tell You I'm grateful again
'Cause its more than enough just to know I am loved
And You are good
So how can I thank You what can I bring
What can these poor hands lay at the feet of a King
I'll sing You a love song it's all that I have
To tell You I'm grateful for holding my life in Your Hands
When it's dark and it's cold and I can't feel my soul
You are so good
When the world is gone gray and the rain's here to stay
You are still good
So with every breath I take in I'll tell You I am grateful again
And the storm may swell even then it is well and
You are good
So how can I thank You what can I bring
What can these poor hands lay at the feet of a King
I'll sing You this love song it's all that I have
To tell You I'm grateful for holding my life in Your hands

Good reminder.
